Moon Mountain Hall

Moon Mountain Hall (月山館) is a private training activity concerned with maintaining a practice of traditional internal martial arts in the Pacific Northwest.

Inner Dharma was a blog I maintained between 2004 and 2024. I want to thank its readers for their feedback and encouragement. This site now has links to reference material of interest to classical and traditional martial artists and some training groups I recommend.

For bodhisattvas who see selflessness, all phenomena: what is cut, the cutter, the time of the cutting, the method of the cutting, and so on; are seen to be like a reflection. Therefore, they have patience.

I am a lineal student of internal martial arts and studied aspects of several koryū before moving to the Pacific Northwest. The focus of my training efforts is on continued martial practice as a form of mindfulness and meditation called shugyō. From time to time, I also have mentored experienced martial artists on aspects of traditional internal martial arts.

I also maintain an independent practice of Japanese swordsmanship in Seattle, informed by internal principles, and have taught a small number of people. Please visit the link above for more information.
