Northern Wú Style Taijiquan

Monday: 7-9PM
Friday: 8-9:30PM

I maintain a practice of Northern Wú Style of Taiji Quan (吳家 太極拳) in the lineage of Chen Changxing, Yang Luchan, Yang Banhou, Quan You, Wang Maozhai, Yang Yuting, and Wang Peisheng as taught by Zhang Yun laoshi under the auspices of North American Yin Cheng Gong Fa (YCGF).

I currently lead a small class focused on traditional Taijiquan, including basic training in long spear, saber, pile standing, form practice, push hands, and applications.

Training Background

I began training in Taijiquan in 2005 under Paul Cote and later became a lineal student of Zhang Yun laoshi in Princeton, NJ in 2015, sponsored by Zhang's disciples Paul Cote and Clayton Shiu. Zhang Yun trained extensively with the late Grandmaster Wang Peisheng (head of the Northern Wu Style Taijiquan group in Beijing), before emigrating to the United States.

In addition to traditional form and push hands training, I have placed extra emphasis in my practice on applications of Taiji and the Taiji weapons practices of straight sword, saber, and spear.

Internal Martial Arts

I also practice the internal arts of Baguazhang (Eight Trigram Palm) in the lineages of Yin Fu and Liu Dekuan, Hebei Xingyiquan (Form Mind Boxing) in the lineage of Han Muxia, and aspects of Heiquan as part of Yin Cheng Gong Fa.
