Jikishinkage-ryū History

Notes on the history of Kashima-Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū — its founders, the stelae that record them, and how the line divided into factions over time. This project sits alongside two others: the Densho Analysis project, which reads the school’s transmission scrolls closely, and the Kōbusho project on the late-Tokugawa martial academy where many Jikishinkage-ryū swordsmen taught.
