Keiko at Seattle Budokan

Updated:

I have worked with a small number of people in Seattle in order to maintain my Jikishinkage-ryū kenjutsu practice including Jake Harlin, Nicky Sayah Sina, and Anthony Nehls-Smith. We met initially under the auspices of the Lonin League cooperative, which was located at the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts (SANCA) in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. When the pandemic hit, we moved our keiko outdoors, meeting in Discovery Park, Ravenna, and Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland. During a lull in the pandemic, our study group took the opportunity to practice indoors at the Seattle Budōkan, located in the Japanese Community and Cultural Center Northwest.
